Principal's Message

Welcome to Starr Elementary! Starr is one of the most diverse schools in Richmond Community Schools and we love to celebrate what makes us unique along with our common threads including being A STARR COYOTE!

 I am so grateful for the opportunity to be back at Starr Elementary and I could not be more excited to return to a place that truly feels like home. I have been in education for over 30 years and have worked with students from Pre-K to Grade 12. I began my career as a special education paraprofessional, then worked as a teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, and a high school counselor. Some families may remember that I served as the principal here at Starr Elementary over 10 years ago.

After my time at Starr, I spent the past decade at the high school as a counselor, assistant principal, and swim coach. Returning to Starr has reminded me how special this community is, and it truly feels like stepping back into a family.

My favorite part of working in education is connecting with students and watching them grow into confident, capable learners. I am thrilled to once again serve our Coyotes from PreK through 4th grade. Starr Elementary has an amazing, dedicated staff who put students first and are willing to do whatever it takes to support them. Their commitment is one of the many reasons I am so excited to be back.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, hosting game nights, and spending time with my family. I look forward to continuing to build student and family relationships, reconnecting with familiar faces, and partnering with you to make this year a great one.

I am honored to be back at Starr Elementary. Let’s continue to make Starr the best it can be—Coyote Up!
