Principal's Message

     Welcome to Starr Elementary! My name is Melissa Jordan, and I am proud to be serving as the principal of this incredible school for the third year. My family moved here when I was very young, so I have grown up in the Richmond Community Schools family.  As a product of this wonderful community, I was fortunate to have had many inspiring teachers who shaped my journey and instilled in me a love for education.

     I have spent my life dedicated to the education and well-being of the students at Starr.  I started as a teacher here in 2001, and have loved teaching here in various roles since then. To me, being at Starr is a gift, and I believe that once you join our family, you will always find a place to call home.   I am an avid animal lover and spend my free time at home cuddled up with any number of critters, reading, or watching the Cincinnati Reds with my husband, Christopher.

     It is truly an honor to lead the staff, students, and families of Starr Elementary. I am dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. Our school is a place of learning, growth, and connection, and I am deeply committed to supporting our fantastic team of educators and the families who make this community so special.
